Acacia Cognata 'Emerald Curl' PBR Emerald Curl is a small Australian tree with an attractive habit of lush fine curling foliage. This selected form of Acacia cognata with its weeping curling feathery tactile leaves creates a very soft effect on the landscape. Soft pale yellow wattle flowers appear in early spring, after flowering can be tip pruned to encourage a denser habit. POSITION: Emerald Curl as a variety is adaptable to most well drained soils; it also tolerates short periods of dry. This very adaptable small tree can be planted in full sun or shaded areas and requires little maintenance. It is best to initially feed with a slow release low phosphorus fertilizer to help establish when first planted. Mulching around the base of the plant will help retain moisture and suppress weeds. CONDITIONS: The natural lush curling foliage of this small tree is a great asset in creating a cool environment; it is an excellent choice to use for large landscapes and small gardens. USES: Emerald Curl is used effectively for screening and can be hedged or planted as a small specimen tree in tight areas. Plant Breeder: P&M Goldup Unauthorised commercial propagation or any sale, conditioning, export, import or stocking of propagating material of this variety is an infringement under the Plant Breeder's Rights Act 1994 |
