Acacia howittii 'Green Wave'

Green Wave is a select dwarf form of Acacia howittii which is naturally found in the Southern Gippsland hills between Yarram and the Tarra Valley in Victoria. This beautiful pendulous dense small hardy shrub has a very striking habit. Pale yellow flowers attract nectar feeding fauna in spring.

POSITION: Grows best in full sun to part shade in clay soils. Ideal for most locations and tolerates short periods of dry.

CARE: This plant requires very little maintenance, as its textural compact habit naturally forms a good shape requiring little or no pruning. Green Wave will benefit from an annual application of a low phosphorus slow release fertiliser and mulching around the base of the plant will help conserve moisture

USES: Green Wave is an excellent compact, low growing shrub suitable for areas where good visibility is necessary. The pendulous habit of this plant makes it a useful foreground plant in low level plantings. This plant is very adapted to clay cuts where plantings will help to retain soil on the slop.
