Dianella caerulea dwarf 'Paroo Petite' Paroo Petite is a selected dwarf form of Dianella caerulea. This unique Australian tuft has lush green miniature strap foliage and dainty purple flowers in early Summer followed by small rich blue berries. POSITION: Grows in full sun to shaded positions and is adaptable to most well drained soils. CARE: A very hardy plant that requires little maintenance but will benefit from an annual application of low phosphorus slow release fertiliser. Mulching around the base of the plant will help to conserve moisture. USES: Paroo Petite can be useful planted in areas between paving stones, as border plants and for mass planting. This small ground-hugging tuft can be used to great effect in creating a landscape pictorial design. This plant is being test marketed under section 43(6) of the Plant Breeder's Right Act 1994 until 14st April 2010 after which full protection under Plant Breeder's Right is intended. Unauthorised commercial propagation or any sale, condition, export, import or stocking of propagating material of this variety is an infringement under Plant Breeder's Rights Act 1994. RVR protected under NZ PVR Act 1987. |
